Meet The Team

Jameela (ODM)

My role between 2017 and 2021 was Senior Integration Support Officer on the Syrian Resettlement Programme with responsibilities for mainly health related matters. This included enabling families to access health care GP practices representing and advocating for them where needed. In addition to this I had the privilege to work alongside CfED’s Chief Officer in undertaking other duties. Since September 2021 I have been appointed as Operational and Development Manager with responsibilities for the overall operations of CfED. On a day to day basis I spend much of my time supporting newly arrived Afghan families in their quest to resettle in the UK. As ODM I also spend time supervising staff and volunteers ensuring the continuity of CfED and the use of all resources required to support service users that come to us on a daily basis. JH

Shugofa (Female Refugee Support Officer)

As the Female Refugee Support Officer, my role is to assist refugee families to access services to undertake activities with women refugees including supporting the Afghan Floating Service. I am interested in exploring different prospects throughout my working journey, while looking forward to serving CfED and its service users as best as possible. I know I will face new challenges and understand that I will have to prioritise my work load. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been appointed to the role of Female Refugee Support Officer and I look forward to working with the rest of the team. SN

Sarah (Community Hub Link Worker)

I began at CfED as a volunteer in 2018 and have been involved with the charity ever since. During my time here, I have had the opportunity to work in many different roles within the Community Hub and I am very proud of what both CfED and myself has achieved in that time. Since taking on the role of Community Hub Link Worker in 2020, I am usually in the Hub helping people with any issues they bring. I also undertake admin duties and run the charity’s social media platforms. It is very rewarding to see the affect CfED has had on individuals who come to the hub for support. SW

Kenneth (Volunteer)

After a life time of working, mainly in 3rd sector organisations, 21 years at CfED itself. It gives me great pleasure to offer my skills as a volunteer. Apart from giving something back to the sector I look forward as a volunteer at CfED to help the organisation in its effort to support people in our communities to become stronger in whatever situation they find themselves. Volunteering is about making a significant contribution to society which helps build a more cohesive and stronger community. KR
